Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 chicken drumsticks

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with foil and grease lightly.

  • In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey, olive oil, vinegar, sriracha (if using), garlic, pepper, and paprika.

  • Place drumsticks in a ziplock bag or bowl, pour marinade over, and toss to coat. Marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

  • Arrange drumsticks on prepared tray, reserving marinade. Bake for 25 minutes.

  • While baking, pour reserved marinade into a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat, stir in cornstarch slurry, and cook until thickened (2–3 minutes).

  • After 25 minutes, brush sauce over drumsticks. Flip, brush again, and bake for another 15–20 minutes, until cooked through (165°F/74°C).

  • Broil for 2–3 minutes if desired for a crispier skin.

  • Garnish with parsley and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Marinate longer (up to 8 hours) for deeper flavor.

  • For extra kick, double the sriracha or add chili flakes.

  • Serve with rice, noodles, or roasted veggies.

  • Leftovers store well and can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
