Ingredients

Scale

For the Ground Beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Creamy Hot Honey Feta Sauce:

  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp hot honey (or honey + chili flakes)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

For the Flatbread & Toppings:

  • 4 flatbreads or naan
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cucumber, diced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup olives, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Cook Onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Cook Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Continue cooking until the beef is browned and fully cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
  4. Season Beef: Add paprika, cumin, oregano, chili flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper to the beef. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes to allow the spices to infuse. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Prepare Sauce: In a blender or mixing bowl, combine crumbled feta cheese, Greek yogurt, cream cheese, hot honey, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Blend or mix until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Warm Flatbreads: Warm the flatbreads or naan in a skillet or oven until they are soft and slightly toasted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Assemble Flatbreads: Spread a generous layer of the creamy hot honey feta sauce over each warmed flatbread.
  8. Add Ground Beef: Evenly distribute the seasoned ground beef over the sauced flatbreads.
  9. Top with Vegetables: Add halved cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, thinly sliced red onion, sliced olives, and chopped fresh parsley on top of the beef layer.
  10. Finish: Drizzle with a little olive oil and extra hot honey if desired for added moisture and flavor. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more chili flakes to the ground beef or drizzle more hot honey over the finished flatbread.
  • You can substitute naan or pita bread if flatbreads are unavailable.
  • Make the creamy hot honey feta sauce ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Optional: add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice on top before serving for added brightness.
  • Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content if desired.
