Ingredients

Scale

Cheese

  • 8 oz (225 g) burrata cheese

Crunch & Toppings

  • 1/3 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh thyme leaves or basil for garnish

Hot Honey

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/41/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust to taste)

Serving

  • Small baguette or crostini, sliced and toasted

Instructions

  1. Toast the Walnuts: Heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Add the roughly chopped walnuts and toast for 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently until they are fragrant and lightly golden. Remove from heat and allow them to cool.
  2. Prepare the Hot Honey: In a small bowl, combine the honey with red chili flakes. Stir and let sit for a few minutes to infuse the honey with heat from the chili flakes.
  3. Plate the Burrata: Place the burrata cheese in the center of a serving plate. Gently slice into the top of the burrata to let the creamy interior slightly spill out, creating a beautiful presentation and readying it for toppings.
  4. Add Crunch & Drizzle: Sprinkle the toasted walnuts over and around the burrata. Drizzle olive oil and the prepared hot honey generously over the cheese. Finish by adding a pinch of flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
  5. Garnish & Serve: Add fresh thyme leaves or basil for a pop of color and flavor if desired. Serve immediately alongside sliced and toasted baguette or crostini to scoop up the creamy, spicy, and crunchy flavors.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of red chili flakes based on desired heat level.
  • Use fresh burrata for the best creamy texture and flavor.
  • For a nut-free option, substitute walnuts with toasted pumpkin seeds or omit nuts entirely.
  • Serve immediately after assembling to enjoy the contrast between warm toasted bread and cool creamy burrata.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 1 day for best freshness.
