A delicious and elegant appetizer featuring creamy burrata cheese atop toasted baguette slices, garnished with fresh cherry tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Perfect for entertaining or a light snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread

  • 1 baguette or rustic bread, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 12 tbsp olive oil, for brushing

Toppings

  • 8 oz burrata cheese
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 garlic clove, halved
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Seasoning

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare it for toasting the bread slices.
  2. Prepare the bread: Lightly brush each slice of baguette with olive oil and lay them out on a baking sheet. Toast them in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes until they become golden brown and crisp.
  3. Rub the garlic: Once toasted, remove the bread from the oven and gently rub each slice with the cut side of the garlic clove to impart a subtle garlic flavor.
  4. Assemble the bruschetta: Place a generous portion of burrata cheese on each slice of toasted bread. Top with halved cherry tomatoes and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Finish and garnish: Drizzle each bruschetta with balsamic glaze for a sweet tangy contrast and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately to enjoy the creamy and fresh flavors at their best.

Notes

  • Use ripe cherry tomatoes for the best flavor.
  • For a vegan version, substitute burrata with a dairy-free cheese alternative.
  • Balsamic glaze can be homemade by reducing balsamic vinegar until thickened or store-bought for convenience.
  • Serve immediately to prevent the bread from becoming soggy.
