Ingredients

Scale

    For the chocolate layer:

  • 150 g dark chocolate (around 55–70% cocoa), chopped
  • 3 tbsp hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream
  • For the mousse layer:

  • 200 ml heavy cream (chilled)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the whipped cream topping:

  • 150 ml heavy cream (chilled)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate base: Melt the dark chocolate with hazelnut spread and milk/cream in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (double boiler). Stir until smooth, then divide evenly into serving glasses. Let cool slightly, then place in the fridge to set for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Make the mousse: Whip the chilled heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cooled chocolate mixture until light and fluffy. Spoon this mousse layer over the set chocolate base in the glasses.
  3. Whipped cream topping: Whip the cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Pipe or spoon it over the mousse layer.
  4. Garnish & serve: Sprinkle cocoa powder or grated chocolate on top. Add roasted hazelnuts and a mint leaf for decoration. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving for the best texture.

Notes

  • Chilling the mousse cups enhances the flavors and texture.
  • You can customize the garnishes with your favorite toppings like chocolate shavings or caramel sauce.
