Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Cookie Dough Topping

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heat-treated flour
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Decoration

  • 1/2 cup melted chocolate for drizzle
  • Additional mini chocolate chips for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Brownie Batter: Mix the brownie batter according to the box instructions using the eggs, vegetable oil, and water until well combined.
  2. Fill Muffin Tins: Grease a muffin tin and pour the brownie batter into each cup, filling about halfway to allow room for rising and cookie dough topping.
  3. Bake Brownies: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Remove from oven and let cool completely in the tin.
  4. Make Cookie Dough: In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Stir in heat-treated flour and milk to form a cookie dough consistency.
  5. Add Chocolate Chips: Fold mini chocolate chips into the cookie dough evenly.
  6. Top Brownie Cups: Once brownie cups are fully cooled, scoop a round portion of cookie dough on top of each brownie cup and gently press to shape.
  7. Drizzle Chocolate: Pour melted chocolate over the cookie dough-topped brownie cups in a decorative drizzle.
  8. Garnish: Press extra mini chocolate chips onto the chocolate drizzle for added texture and visual appeal.
  9. Chill: Refrigerate the finished brownie cups for at least 20 minutes to set the toppings and meld flavors before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure to heat-treat the flour by baking it at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes to eliminate any harmful bacteria before using it in raw dough.
  • Use softened butter at room temperature for easier creaming and smoother dough.
  • Completely cool brownies before adding cookie dough to prevent melting.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour and brownie mix with gluten-free alternatives and heat-treat the flour accordingly.
