This Creamy Garlic Butter Lobster Tails recipe offers a decadent and flavorful seafood dish perfect for special occasions or an indulgent dinner. Succulent lobster tails are baked with a rich garlic butter and cream sauce, seasoned with lemon and paprika, then garnished with fresh parsley and served with lemon wedges for a restaurant-quality meal at home.

Ingredients

Scale

Lobster Tails

  • 4 lobster tails

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Garnish and Serving

  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Lobster Tails: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Using kitchen shears, carefully cut down the center of the top shell of each lobster tail. Gently lift and pull the lobster meat out so it rests on top of the shell for even cooking and a beautiful presentation.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes until it thickens slightly and all flavors meld.
  3. Bake the Lobster Tails: Arrange the lobster tails on a baking sheet. Generously brush the lobster meat with some of the creamy garlic butter sauce you just made. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the lobster meat turns opaque and is fully cooked through.
  4. Serve: Once baked, drizzle the remaining garlic butter sauce over the lobster tails. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve alongside lemon wedges. This dish pairs wonderfully with rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the lobster to avoid a rubbery texture; lobster meat should be opaque and tender.
  • You can prepare the garlic butter sauce ahead of time to save on prep during cooking.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
  • Use fresh lemon juice rather than bottled for the best flavor.
  • Leftover lobster can be refrigerated up to 2 days in an airtight container.
