Ingredients

Scale

Cake

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 150g butter
  • 100g sugar
  • 4 eggs

Filling and Toppings

  • 200ml cream
  • 100g caramel sauce
  • 200g raspberries
  • 100g white chocolate
  • Fresh figs for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake batter: Melt the dark chocolate and butter together gently until smooth and combined. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until pale and fluffy. Gradually fold the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, ensuring it is well incorporated.
  2. Bake the cake: Pour the batter into a lined or greased cake pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely before layering.
  3. Whip the cream and assemble layers: Whip the cream until soft peaks form. Once the cake is cooled, spread the whipped cream evenly over the surface. Next, evenly distribute the fresh raspberries over the cream, and then pour the caramel sauce evenly on top as the next layer.
  4. Prepare fig decoration: Melt the white chocolate gently until smooth. Dip the fresh figs into the melted white chocolate to coat them partially or fully as desired. Place the dipped figs on top of the cake artistically.
  5. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the assembled cake for at least 2 hours to set all layers and flavors. Serve chilled and enjoy the decadence.

Notes

  • Use high-quality dark and white chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
  • Ensure the cake is completely cooled before adding cream and caramel layers to prevent melting and sliding.
  • Fresh figs can be substituted with other fruits like strawberries or blueberries if unavailable.
  • For a firmer whipped cream, chill your mixing bowl and beaters before whipping.
  • This cake is best served within 24 hours of assembly to enjoy optimal freshness.
