Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz / 170g each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Crust Mixture

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs

For Serving

  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the crust mixture: In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemon zest, chopped dill, panko breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to create a flavorful crust topping for the salmon.
  3. Prepare the salmon: Pat each salmon fillet dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Lightly brush olive oil on the top of each fillet, then evenly press the dill-lemon-panko mixture onto the oiled side, forming a crust layer.
  4. Bake the salmon: Arrange the prepared salmon fillets on the lined baking sheet with the crust side up. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon is fully cooked through and the crust is golden brown and crisp.
  5. Serve: Serve the salmon hot with fresh lemon wedges on the side. Pair with roasted vegetables, a fresh green salad, or your favorite side dishes for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Ensure the salmon fillets are of even thickness for uniform baking.
  • For a crispier crust, broil for the last 1-2 minutes while watching closely to prevent burning.
  • Fresh dill can be substituted with dried dill, but reduce quantity to 1 tablespoon.
  • Panko breadcrumbs add extra crunch; plain fine breadcrumbs can be used but will be less crispy.
  • Leftover salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
