Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226g) Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (60g) Powdered sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (30g) Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tbsp (15–30ml) Milk, as needed

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar: In a bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until pale, light, and fluffy.
  2. Add vanilla and dry ingredients: Mix in the vanilla extract. Sift in the flour and cornstarch, then gently fold to combine.
  3. Adjust consistency: If the dough is too thick to pipe, add 1 tablespoon of milk at a time until you reach a soft, pipeable consistency.
  4. Transfer and pipe: Place the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large open star tip. Pipe swirls or rosettes onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Chill and bake: Chill the tray in the fridge for 15 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for 12–15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  6. Cool and serve: Let the cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring them to a rack to cool completely.
