Elegant, nutty, and deeply chocolatey, these Ferrero Rocher tartlets feature a buttery crust filled with smooth hazelnut chocolate ganache, topped with crushed roasted hazelnuts and a whole Ferrero Rocher candy for a luxurious finish. Perfect for chocolate lovers seeking a sophisticated dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 100g butter, cold and cubed
  • 70g powdered sugar
  • 30g egg (about half a large egg)
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt

Ganache Filling

  • 150g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100ml heavy cream
  • 80g hazelnut paste
  • 20g butter

Topping

  • Chopped roasted hazelnuts
  • 8 Ferrero Rocher candies (one per tartlet)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a bowl, mix the cold cubed butter with powdered sugar, egg, all-purpose flour, and a pinch of salt until the dough comes together. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
  2. Shape and bake the tartlets: Once chilled, divide the dough into 8 equal portions and press each into tartlet molds. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for about 20-25 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
  3. Make the ganache filling: Heat the heavy cream until just about to simmer, then pour over the chopped dark chocolate. Let sit for a minute, then stir until smooth. Add hazelnut paste and butter, stirring until fully incorporated into a glossy ganache.
  4. Fill the tart shells: Spoon or pipe the ganache into the cooled tartlet shells. Smooth the tops and chill the filled tartlets in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set.
  5. Add the finishing touches: Before serving, sprinkle chopped roasted hazelnuts on top of each tartlet, then place a whole Ferrero Rocher candy on each for an elegant, recognizable finish.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is cold when making the crust to achieve a flaky texture.
  • Chill the tartlets completely before filling to prevent the crust from becoming soggy.
  • Store finished tartlets in the refrigerator and consume within 3 days for best freshness.
  • You can substitute dark chocolate with milk chocolate if preferred, though it will alter the intensity of flavor.
  • Use high-quality hazelnut paste for the best nutty aroma and taste.
