  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it.
  2. Mix brownie layer: Combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until thick.
  3. Layer brownie batter: Spread 2/3 of the brownie batter in the pan.
  4. Prepare cheesecake swirl: Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Swirl the batters: Spoon cheesecake mixture over brownie base, then dollop remaining brownie batter. Swirl batters together.
  6. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
