This Gooey Peanut Caramel Chocolate Bar combines rich milk chocolate, smooth caramel, and crunchy roasted peanuts for a decadent homemade treat. Layers of velvety chocolate and sticky caramel topped with peanuts create a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 200g milk chocolate
  • 50g butter
  • 2 tbsp cream

Caramel Peanut Layer

  • 100g caramel sauce
  • 100g peanuts, chopped
  • Pinch of salt

Topping

  • Peanut shapes or whole peanuts for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate Mixture: Gently melt the milk chocolate together with the butter and cream in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth and glossy.
  2. First Chocolate Layer: Pour half of the melted chocolate mixture into a lined or greased mold, spreading it evenly. Place the mold in the refrigerator and chill for 1 hour until the chocolate sets firmly.
  3. Prepare Caramel Peanut Layer: In a bowl, combine the caramel sauce with the chopped peanuts and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors. Stir well to evenly distribute the peanuts throughout the caramel.
  4. Add Caramel Layer: Spread the peanut-caramel mixture evenly over the chilled chocolate layer in the mold. Return to the refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes to allow the caramel to firm up slightly.
  5. Top with Remaining Chocolate: Pour the remaining melted chocolate mixture over the caramel peanut layer, carefully spreading it to cover the surface completely.
  6. Garnish and Final Chill: Decorate the top with peanut shapes or whole peanuts for added texture and a beautiful finish. Refrigerate the assembled bars for at least 2 hours until completely set.
  7. Serve: Once fully chilled, remove the bars from the mold and cut into desired sizes. Serve chilled or at room temperature for a gooey, satisfying treat.

Notes

  • Use good quality milk chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
  • If caramel sauce is too runny, briefly chill it before mixing with peanuts to prevent it from soaking too much into the chocolate layer.
  • Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a more intense flavor, consider lightly toasting the peanuts before mixing with the caramel.
  • You can substitute the peanuts with other nuts like almonds or pecans as preferred.
