Ingredients

Scale

For the Mezze Board

  • 1 cup hummus (classic or roasted garlic)
  • 1 cup tzatziki
  • 1 cup mixed olives (kalamata, green, marinated)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup cucumber slices
  • 1 cup carrot sticks
  • 1 cup bell pepper strips
  • ½ cup feta cheese cubes or crumbles
  • ½ cup marinated artichoke hearts
  • ½ cup stuffed grape leaves (dolmas)
  • ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes
  • Fresh herbs (dill, mint, parsley) for garnish
  • Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
  • Cracked black pepper, to taste

For the Pita Chips

  • 4 pita breads, sliced into triangles
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the pita chips: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). In a bowl, toss the pita bread triangles with olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Spread the pita triangles in a single layer on a baking tray and bake for 8–10 minutes or until they are golden and crisp. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the dips: Place bowls of hummus and tzatziki at the center of your serving board. Drizzle each dip with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with fresh herbs or cracked black pepper for added flavor and presentation.
  3. Arrange the fresh vegetables: Surround the dips with the cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks, and bell pepper strips, distributing them evenly for visual appeal and easy access.
  4. Add the Mediterranean sides: Place the mixed olives, sun-dried tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts, and stuffed grape leaves (dolmas) in small clusters or ramekins around the board to add variety and flavor contrasts.
  5. Include the feta cheese: Scatter the cubes or crumbles of feta cheese across the board to provide a rich, salty complement to the fresh vegetables and dips.
  6. Finish with pita chips: Fill the remaining spaces on the board with the warm or cooled pita chips to complete the platter and offer a satisfying crunchy element.
  7. Garnish and serve: Garnish the entire mezze board with fresh herbs such as dill, mint, and parsley, and drizzle additional olive oil if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your fresh and vibrant Mediterranean appetizer spread.
