Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

For the Lemon Butter Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or white wine
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Lemon Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic, cook for 1 minute. Stir in lemon juice, red pepper flakes, and broth. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning.
  4. Combine and Serve: Return shrimp to skillet, coat with sauce. Cook for 1 minute. Sprinkle with parsley and serve hot. Pair with bread, rice, or pasta.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, stir in 2 tbsp of heavy cream at the end of cooking.
  • Add a pinch of lemon zest for extra citrus flavor.
  • Enjoy your Lemon Butter Shrimp!
