Ingredients

Scale

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs (900 g) chicken wings
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

For the Mango Chili Sauce:

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
  • 23 tbsp honey
  • 12 tsp chili flakes or sriracha (adjust to desired heat)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry using paper towels to ensure crispiness. Toss them in olive oil, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika until evenly coated. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake the wings: Bake the wings for 35–40 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning. They should be golden brown and crispy when done.
  4. Prepare the mango chili sauce: In a blender or food processor, combine the diced mango, honey, chili flakes or sriracha (adjust to your heat preference), lime juice, grated ginger, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Blend everything until smooth and well combined.
  5. Coat the wings: Remove the baked wings from the oven and transfer them to a large bowl. Toss the wings with the mango chili sauce until fully coated in the flavorful glaze.
  6. Serve: Arrange the coated wings on a serving platter. Optionally, garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions. Serve immediately while hot, perfect as an appetizer or a main dish for any occasion.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for 2-3 minutes after baking, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • Adjust the amount of chili flakes or sriracha according to your preferred spice level.
  • Use ripe mangoes for the best sweetness and smooth sauce texture.
  • Leftover sauce can be refrigerated and used as a dipping sauce or marinade.
  • These wings can be made gluten-free as long as the chili flakes or sriracha sauce are certified gluten-free.
