- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons water
Creamy Garlic Yogurt Sauce
- 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 clove garlic, finely grated
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or parsley)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Wraps
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced cucumber
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
- 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Prepare the Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for about 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add Garlic: Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Cook the Beef: Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned and fully cooked, approximately 6–7 minutes.
- Season the Beef: Stir in paprika, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes if using. Mix well to evenly coat the beef with the spices.
- Add Tomato Paste: Stir in the tomato paste and water, then let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened and flavorful. Remove the skillet from heat.
- Make the Yogurt Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, finely grated garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, chopped fresh dill, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Warm Pita Breads: Warm the pita breads in a skillet or an oven for 1–2 minutes until soft and pliable.
- Assemble the Wraps: Spread a spoonful of garlic yogurt sauce inside each pita, then add a generous amount of the warm ground beef mixture.
- Add Vegetables & Cheese: Top the beef with shredded lettuce, diced cucumbers, diced tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, and crumbled feta cheese.
- Finish & Serve: Drizzle extra garlic yogurt sauce over the filling, garnish with fresh parsley, fold the pita, and serve immediately while warm.
