Sweetened Condensed Milk Mixture:
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk 🥛
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter 🧈
Pistachio Coating:
- 1/2 cup ground pistachios 🌰
- 1/4 cup finely chopped pistachios, for coating 🌿
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 🌼
- Prepare Sweetened Condensed Milk Mixture: In a medium-sized saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk and unsalted butter. Stir constantly until the butter melts completely.
- Integrate Pistachios: Mix in the ground pistachios and continue to stir for about 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens and easily pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Add Vanilla Extract: Stir in the vanilla extract and remove the pan from heat. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
- Form Brigadeiros: Grease your hands with butter, then scoop and roll the mixture into small walnut-sized balls. Roll each ball in the finely chopped pistachios to coat evenly.
- Chill and Serve: Place the brigadeiros on a plate or in paper liners. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can toast the ground pistachios before adding them to the mixture.
- Store the brigadeiros in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
