Rich Chocolate Cake Layers:
- 2 1/4 cups (270g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (95g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 1/2 cups (500g) granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (240ml) milk
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240ml) boiling water
Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting:
- 1 1/2 cups (340g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (250g) creamy peanut butter
- 5–6 cups (600-720g) powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream or milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
Salted Caramel Sauce (Homemade or Store-bought):
- 1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (60ml) water
- 3/4 cup (180ml) heavy cream
- 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter
- 3/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt
Chocolate Ganache Drip:
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 4 ounces (113g) dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (optional)
Assembly/Decoration:
- 1 cup (approx. 150g) roasted salted peanuts
- Rich Chocolate Cake Layers: Preheat oven, prepare pans, combine dry ingredients, combine wet ingredients, mix, add hot liquid, bake, cool.
- Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting: Beat butter & peanut butter, add powdered sugar, add liquid & flavor, beat until light & fluffy.
- Salted Caramel Sauce (Homemade): Combine sugar & water, simmer, add cream, butter, & salt, whisk until smooth & cool.
- Chocolate Ganache Drip: Heat cream, melt chocolate, whisk ganache, cool to pourable consistency.
- Toasted Peanuts & Assembly/Decoration: Toast peanuts, stack & crumb coat, final frosting, apply ganache drip, heavy caramel drizzle, garnish, chill & serve, store leftovers.
Notes
