  • 1 lb. Ground beef
  • ¼ cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Large egg
  • ½ Onion, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive oil

For the gravy:

  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 8 oz. Sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 Package refrigerated prepared mashed potatoes, cooked according to package instructions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the steaks: In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Form patties: Shape the meat mixture into four patties.
  3. Sear the patties: Sear the patties in a skillet with olive oil until browned. Set aside.
  4. Make the gravy: Saute mushrooms in butter. Add flour, beef broth, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
  5. Finish: Return the patties to the gravy, simmer until cooked through. Serve over mashed potatoes.
