For the chocolate sponge (3 layers):

  • 250 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 60 g (½ cup) cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 200 g (1 cup) sugar
  • 120 ml (½ cup) vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 240 ml (1 cup) buttermilk (or milk + 1 tsp vinegar)
  • 120 ml (½ cup) hot coffee (for rich flavor)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the nougat cream filling:

  • 200 g (7 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 100 g (½ cup) peanut butter
  • 200 ml (¾ cup) heavy cream (cold)
  • 80 g (⅔ cup) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the caramel layer:

  • 200 g (1 cup) sugar
  • 80 g (6 tbsp) butter
  • 120 ml (½ cup) heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt

For decoration:

  • Chocolate ganache (100 g chocolate + 100 ml cream)
  • Salted peanuts
  • Chopped Snickers bars
  • Buttercream swirls (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bake the sponge cakes: Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line 3 round pans (20 cm/8 in). Mix dry ingredients (flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda, salt). In another bowl, whisk sugar, oil, eggs, buttermilk, vanilla. Add dry mix, then stir in hot coffee. Batter will be runny. Divide into pans, bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
  2. Prepare the nougat cream: Beat cream cheese, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Whip cold cream separately until soft peaks form, then fold into mixture. Chill.
  3. Make the caramel sauce: Melt sugar in a saucepan until amber. Add butter and stir until melted. Slowly add cream, stir until smooth. Add pinch of salt. Cool slightly.
  4. Assemble the cake: Place first sponge layer, spread nougat cream, drizzle caramel, sprinkle peanuts & chopped Snickers. Repeat with second layer. Top with third sponge and cover entire cake with nougat cream.
  5. Decorate: Pour chocolate ganache on top, letting it drip down the sides. Pipe swirls of cream around the edges. Top with chopped Snickers, peanuts, and extra caramel drizzle.
