  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk or plain yogurt

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups mixed dried fruits (raisins, chopped dates, dried apricots, cherries)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds)
  • Zest of 1 orange and 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp brandy or orange juice (optional, for soaking)

Instructions

  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 60–75 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Optional Soaking: While still warm, poke holes in the cake and brush with brandy or orange juice for added moisture and flavor.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let the cake cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can customize the dried fruits and nuts to suit your preferences.
  • For a richer flavor, you can soak the dried fruits in brandy overnight before using them in the cake.
