Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients for Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp (1620 count), peeled and deveined, with tails on
  • 810 slices of bacon, halved crosswise
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp sriracha or hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Toothpicks for securing

Tools You’ll Need:

  • Baking sheet with wire rack (or foil-lined baking sheet for easier cleanup)
  • Pastry brush
  • Small bowl for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top to allow even cooking.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp and Bacon: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Wrap each shrimp with a half slice of bacon, starting at the thickest part and working toward the tail. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  3. Make the Sweet and Spicy Glaze: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, honey or maple syrup, sriracha, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  4. Brush with Glaze: Arrange the bacon-wrapped shrimp on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each piece generously with the glaze using a pastry brush.
  5. Bake the Shrimp: Roast in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the shrimp are cooked through. Flip the shrimp halfway through and brush with additional glaze for maximum flavor.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Remove the shrimp from the oven and let cool slightly. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with fresh herbs, a drizzle of glaze, or a squeeze of lime.
