Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
  • ¼ cup water (or beef broth for extra flavor)

For the Burrito:

  • 1 cup refried beans (optional)
  • 1 cup Mexican rice (cooked)
  • 1 cup nacho cheese sauce (warm)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese 🧀
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup tortilla chips (crushed, for crunch)
  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Season the Beef: Add taco seasoning + water (or broth). Stir and simmer for 3–4 minutes until saucy.
  3. Prepare Tortillas: Warm tortillas slightly so they’re pliable.
  4. Assemble Burritos: Layer each tortilla with: refried beans → rice → seasoned beef → nacho cheese sauce → shredded cheese → sour cream → crushed tortilla chips.
  5. Roll the Burritos: Fold into a burrito: tuck sides in, then roll tightly.
  6. Crisp the Burritos: Heat a clean skillet, place burrito seam-side down, and toast for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden and melty inside.

Notes

  • You can customize these burritos with your favorite toppings like salsa, guacamole, or jalapeños!
