Ingredients

Scale

For the Ground Beef

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Spicy Lemon Honey Feta Cream

  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 12 teaspoons red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

For the Flatbread

  • 2 pre-made flatbreads or naan
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add ground beef along with smoked paprika, ground cumin, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 6 to 8 minutes until the beef is browned and fully cooked through.
  2. Prepare the Spicy Lemon Honey Feta Cream: In a small bowl, combine crumbled feta cheese, honey, red pepper flakes, Greek yogurt, and fresh lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning, increasing red pepper flakes if you prefer more heat.
  3. Assemble the Flatbread: Lay the pre-made flatbreads on a baking sheet or serving platter. Evenly spread the spicy lemon honey feta cream over each flatbread as the base layer. Top with the cooked ground beef followed by halved cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, thinly sliced red onion, and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for brightness.
  4. Serve: Slice the flatbreads into portions and serve immediately while warm for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • You can substitute naan or pita bread if flatbreads are unavailable.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your preferred spice level.
  • For a lighter version, use low-fat Greek yogurt and reduce the amount of olive oil.
  • Leftover ground beef and feta cream can be refrigerated separately for up to 2 days.
  • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice over the top just before serving for extra brightness.
