  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
  • 1 cup (240ml) strong brewed coffee (cooled)
  • 1 cup (240ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 ½ cups (500g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate Whipped Buttercream

  • 1 ½ cups (340g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • ½ cup (60g) cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Chocolate Ganache Drip

  • 200g dark or semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)
  • 150ml heavy cream
  • 1 tsp butter (for shine, optional)

Instructions

  1. Chocolate Cake Layers: Preheat oven. Combine dry ingredients. Mix wet ingredients. Combine wet and dry mixtures. Bake.
  2. Chocolate Whipped Buttercream: Beat butter until fluffy. Add sugar, cocoa, salt, and vanilla. Beat in cream.
  3. Chocolate Ganache Drip: Heat cream, pour over chocolate, stir until smooth.
  4. Assembly: Layer cake with buttercream, chill, frost, drizzle with ganache, decorate.
