Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Souvlaki

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Wooden skewers (soaked in water)

For the Whipped Feta Dip

  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley
  • Black pepper to taste

For the Mezze Board

  • 4 pita breads, warmed
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup cucumber slices
  • 1/2 cup kalamata olives
  • 1/4 cup roasted red peppers
  • 1/4 cup hummus
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, dill, mint) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the cubed chicken breasts and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  2. Prepare and Grill the Skewers: Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto soaked wooden skewers evenly. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the skewers for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through with a slight char on the edges.
  3. Make the Whipped Feta Dip: In a blender or food processor, combine crumbled feta, Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic clove, fresh dill or parsley, and a pinch of black pepper. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy with a fluffy texture.
  4. Prepare the Mezze Board: Warm the pita breads and arrange them on a large serving board. Add the grilled chicken skewers in the center or alongside the board. Artistically arrange the cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, and hummus around the chicken.
  5. Serve: Spoon the whipped feta dip into a small bowl and place it on the board. Garnish everything with fresh herbs such as parsley, dill, and mint. Serve immediately, encouraging guests to assemble bites from the varied ingredients.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
  • For extra smoky flavor, grill the chicken over charcoal if possible.
  • The whipped feta dip can be made a day ahead and refrigerated; bring to room temperature before serving.
  • Feel free to substitute fresh herbs in the dip with those you prefer, like basil or chives.
  • This dish is perfect for sharing and easily adaptable for larger groups.
